That is, those playing the PS4 version of the game won’t be able to play with their friends who are running the Xbox One version (or the PC one for that matter). However, while the game will support co-op play (the entire game can be played in cooperative mode besides the prologue), cross-platform co-op won’t be available at launch.

The game will hit consoles and PC this February, and those who get the PS4 version of the game will be happy to know that you can upgrade for free to the PS5 version as was recently revealed by developer Techland. Techland (the people behind the game) have already made another zombie centric game (the much-loved Dead Island), and this Dying Light sequel will revisit the zombie apocalypse and feature a new protagonist named Aiden Caldwell, plus a map four times bigger than that of the original game.Ĭaldwell will have parkour skills much like the protagonist of the first Dying Light, and will get to interact with several new characters as he makes his way through a zombie-infested city in this open-world, role-playing and action game. It remains to be seen, though, whether the sequel will match the original, which was an atmospheric survival horror game featuring good characters and story set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by the undead.
